About Terry Livingstone Photography
I am a photographer with over 30 years of experience photographing nature's beauty. I am based in middle Tennessee, though my images appear worldwide in numerous calendars, books, magazines, advertisements, etc. My publication credits include Audubon, Outdoor Photographer, Outside, National Audubon Society Field Guides, and Sierra Club Books, to name just a few.
Like many photographers of my generation, I was profoundly influenced by the work of Ansel Adams. For years I studied the Zone System, and mastered black and white exposure and darkroom techniques. Eventually I moved to shooting color transparencies, and now work with digital capture and the latest photographic hardware and software tools, in creating award-winning editorial and fine art images.
Since 1991, I have offered nature photography workshops and tours in locations across the country, from the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee to Florida, New York to California, Minnesota to Texas. I have also taught classes and seminars for corporate sponsors including Tamron, Backpacker magazine, REI, Tennessee State Parks, Nashville Zoo, Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, and others. I am also the author/photographer of The Warner Parks: Nashville's Natural Legacy, a gorgeous "coffee table" book born out of 18 years of exploration in Nashville's Warner Parks, one of the nation's oldest and largest urban green spaces.
