Montgomery Bell State Park is 3800 acres of rolling hills, hollows, forests and lakes in middle Tennessee. Back in the 1800's this land was mined for iron ore, its hardwood forests cleared for farms and to fuel the iron furnaces. But since the 1930's it's been slowly recovering from these wounds. Now the woods are maturing, the wildflowers are returning, and the wildlife is diverse and plentiful.
